Also you can craft a lot of the best armor sets or buy them from crafters so if you dont like running the same dungeon for months for drops its great. Pve offers easy dungeons, hard ones, raids and trials.Ĭrafting is.not the best imo its boring but you can make good money out of it. Theres is a pvp area and there are also battlegrounds. Also you can solo trough the story and maxlevel youre not forced to group up. It will take you a lot of time to discover everything. Everything is voiced and even the sidequests have great storytelling.

You get the sub price back in ingame currency, a craftingbag for all materials with 2 billion(!!) places, double the bankaccount and 10% more gold and xp (which isnt really relevant) and you can access all dlcs for free as long as youre subbed (the dlcs, not the expansions)Īs for the gameplay, if you love good stories in an mmo, ESO offers that. The sub is optional but it has nice features.

Yes there are lootboxes you can buy but again, only cosmetic stuff. There is a cashshop but its only cosmetic. I play ESO since the beta and I can assure you that its not pay2win at all. Is there anyone who currently plays Guild Wars or ESO or multiple MMos that can give some feedback on the progression and current state of up to date MMOs?Įverquests and lord of the rings and even dungeons and dragons online looked decent back in their day but they looked revamped and plagued by modern greedy trends that seems to have killed their player bases. Ill play Path of Exile some day when im sick and tired of Diablo 2 and Grim dawn. Originally posted by Heresy:Yeah guild Wars seems to be the only one that moderately fits the description i want. However locked content and none cosmetics only obtainable by P2W is a No. Its about finding the lesser ones such as cosmetics or XP boosts etc. I understand that every single mmo out old and new have p2w elements. I just like when everyone is on the same page. Ye im looking for something along the lines of No lifer lol i enjoy grinding. It's a genre that frankly has slim pickings and has been in the decline for awhile for a wide variety of reasons. I honestly can't think of any other MMO's that would meet what you want. With that out of the way, I'd put Neverwinter in the pay to progress faster camp, Guild Wars 2 more in line with the no payment, and I'm not familiar with ESO to say, but it does seem more tuned towards pay to progress faster, but someone more familiar with it would have to say for sure.

Pay to progress faster is an interesting development as it tries to create a balance where you can grind for everything or pay to alleviate some of the grind but can't buy direct power. P2W (favours deep wallets), no real paying or cosmetics (favours the no lifer), and pay to progress faster. Originally posted by Sleepy Yoshi:Basically I view mmo's in 3 area's. It had no p2w, it was free with a acceptable population and im looking for anything similar to that experience. Sadly the only thing ive experienced with this set up was Vanilla WOW on a private server. I was looking at Elder Scrolls Online or Neverwinter as the most appealing ones so far however i would like to know how bad the p2w elements are in these games? I see elder scrolls has an expansion now for another $40 which is fine as long as it doesnt contain other p2w elements ontop of this. I just want a borderline mature mmo without extremely greedy business practices with decent gameplay and community. I dont care if its Buy to Play or Free or has possibly 1-2 dlcs. There is no MMOs without p2w or cartoon anime hentai fantasy cheese.Īll i want is an experience similar to WOW specifically Vanilla or The Burning Crusade, without a monthly subscription, Without p2w gates, without starter packs that offer OP bonuses, without 5+ Dlcs that each cost $30+ Is there a single MMO that is not pay to win?įrom decent research my conclusion is No. Is there a single MMO that is popular with good rating but doesnt contain anime cat girls and cartoons? There seems to be dozens of MMO's on steam.
